While the ERC grant started formally this July, so far it’s been just me toiling along with papers, conferences, and logistics. But tomorrow, things will start happening for real, as Bethan arrives to start her PhD project on modeling atmospheric oxygen isotopes.

Bethan is joining us with a Masters from Oxford. Her dissertation there involved assessing the impact of the Siberian Traps on thermogenic methane production in the End Permian. Here, she will be looking at improving the predictive capabilities that all three isotopes of oxygen have in numerical models of atmospheric chemistry.

Welcome Bethan!
